Our mission
At Literary Legends, our mission is to bring readers together through books, conversation, and community. We create welcoming spaces where people can connect, build friendships, discover new stories, support local businesses, and celebrate the love of reading in Knoxville and the surrounding areas.
Through book discussions, social events, swaps, creative meetups, author experiences, and community outreach, we hope to make literature feel more accessible, meaningful, and fun for everyone.
Our Story
Literary Legends started three years ago with just two members and a simple idea: to create a space where readers could come together, talk about books, and build real friendships.
What began as a small meetup has grown into a fast-growing community of over 900 local members. Today, Literary Legends offers more than traditional book discussions, with deep dives, social swaps, craft nights, cookbook club, books and brunch, books and brews, author events, community outreach, and more.
At the heart of it all, Literary Legends is about connection. We believe books have a way of bringing people together, sparking meaningful conversations, and helping friendships grow both inside and outside the pages.
Our Vision
At Literary Legends, our vision goes beyond reading books together. We want to build a stronger literary community throughout Knoxville and Knox County.

Building Community
Creating welcoming spaces where readers can meet, connect, make friends, and feel like they belong.
Growing Little Free Libraries
Helping expand Little Free Libraries throughout Knox County so more families, children, and readers have easy access to books.
Supporting Local Businesses
Partnering with local restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, venues, makers, and small businesses through our events and community gatherings.
Giving Back Through Books
Donating books to teachers, children, classrooms, families, and community spaces that need them most.
Serving Our Community
Giving our time, resources, and support to projects that encourage reading, connection, and access to books across Knox County.
